Biography

Dan Guenther
Author

Dan's trilogy of novels, China Wind, (Ivy, 1990), Dodge City Blues, (Redburn Press, 2007), and Townsend's Solitaire, (Redburn Press, 2008), draw from his experiences as a Marine officer in Vietnam. His fourth novel, Glossy Black Cockatoos, (Redburn Press, 2009), grew out of his experiences in Asia and Australia after the Fall of Saigon in 1975. Called a vivid, expressionistic novel of international intrigue, Glossy Black Cockatoos is the story of two American expatriates who are caught up in a series of events that precipitate both murder and the theft of ancient Southeast Asian art treasures. High Country Solitudes (Grand River, 1997) is a book of poetry. His poems are also included in Turning Up The Leaves, an anthology produced by Coe Review Press, (2000), and most recently, Open Range: Poetry of the Reimagined West, Ghost Road Press, (2007). Dan is a member of the Rocky Mountain Fiction Writers, the Colorado Authors' League, and Western Writers of America.
